Frequently Asked Questions
For smaller kids (under 5-7) they do much better with a 3/4 size guitar. As far as an acoustic or electric type of guitar, it's ALWAYS better to go with the one that excites them the most so they are more motivated to practice. If they aren't sure yet which one they will like we are happy assess this in your free consultation.
The youngest we work with is 5 yrs old but it depends on maturity and focus ability of the student.
Yes. There are 3 main ways to read music. We'll start them on the easiest and as we build competence and skills move them through harder notations.
This is a myth. (Probably started by the piano teachers...)
It's best to start on whichever instrument your kids is most excited to learn as they will be more motivated to practice and earn their skills.
It depends on the type of program the student is in but our most popular program has a FLEX SCHEDULE which means you can move your lesson day/time to accommodate your schedule with at least 12 hr notice. Most of our lessons are after 4pm
Unlike traditional music lessons with a 1 size fits all approach we have many programs, various formats (online, in-person, or both) and frequency options so it will depend. Contact us to day and we'd be happy to see if SLC Guitar is right for you!
